The future of two of Wootton Bassett's biggest annual events has been thrown into doubt.
Both the High Street festival and Christmas lights evening will be discussed at a meeting tonight.
The town council's amenities committee is to review both events.
Thousands of people filled the High Street for the annual festival last month.
However some councillors are unhappy at the response from traders.
Committee chairman Bill Roberts said many new councillors were keen to reduce council expenditure and the festival was one area that interested them.
"They want to get an idea of the costs involved," he said.
"I think a lot of people were disappointed that a lot of the traders didn't turn up to the High Street Festival this year."
The Christmas lights switch-on is also under threat, with the cancellation of this year's event not ruled out.
Tonight's agenda says: "It is understood that, should the council wish to abandon the Christmas Lights Evening event, it would probably not do so until December 2008.
"However, at this time, the 2007 evening event would have a low cancellation cost, as only provisional bookings have been made."
Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting at 7.30pm in the Civic Centre.
