GEORGIAN costumed interpreters greeted visitors to Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre last Saturday (July 14) as its Georgian season kicked off.

Until September 29, the new exhibition explores the highs and lows of life in Georgian Chippenham.

The programme of events, which includes a range of walks and talks, began with a Georgian Day when costumed interpreters the Mannered Mob greeted visitors and showed off Georgian activities.

Museum curator Melissa Barnett said: “Georgian Chippenham was a fabulous and vibrant place to be.

“We are particularly delighted to have on loan some rather risqué satirical prints from the British Museum.

“The Georgian day was absolutely brilliant and we had a full house of visitors coming through the museum all day.

“The Mannered Mob stayed in character throughout the day.

“It is a family fun exhibition with a lot of interesting facts people won’t know about Chippenham.”
