KENNET Community Transport mini bus will now proudly display the St Johns Logo after the school pledged cash raised form non uniforms days to the service.
Kennet Community Transport provide lifts and transport for older and vulnerable people who need support getting out in the community.
St John’s pupils have raised money for the service for the last four years by holding non uniform days once a year. In recognition of the work the school’s logo has been put on the side of the bus.
Chairman of the transport group Alexander Kirk Wilson said: “We are enormously grateful to the school for supporting us. Primarily we support the jubilee centre but we also take older people from care homes out on trips.
“We pick up children from Broad Hinton to do the school run which is usually a joy, apart from the very early mornings.
Roland Lockey has been a driver for over nine years and said: “We have to have 13 weekly inspections which can prove costly. This money will maintain the important bus service.”
