MOTHER Kimberly Nickols wanted to do something extreme to raise money for St Nicholas School in Chippenham, so she settled on shaving all her hair off.

Mrs Nickols, from Calne, has raised over £700 from the head shave on Friday, which will now go to helping children with special needs at the school, like her daughter Luna.

"I wanted to do something that would benefit her and all the other children," she said. "I decided on a head shave over Easter because it's quite extreme and I love my hair.

"My sister Tanya cut it all off for me and I think my daughter likes it. She's non verbal but she keeps touching and feeling it, so I think that's a good sign!"

Melanie Pritchard, chairman of FoSN said: "I think she looks fantastic. To do something which alters your physical appearance to raise money for children is amazing and we are so proud of her.

"The money she has raised will now go towards buying equipment for the children and things like sensory toys, which are expensive."

"We are looking at giving money to each class at the school, so that they can spend it on equipment that they specifically need and this could help with that."
