SEVERAL fire engines are at the scene of a thatched cottage blaze in Bishops Cannings.
It is understood that fire crews worked all night in attempts to save The Old Manor.
Police and ambulance crews are also thought to be on hand, heading to the village at about 9pm.
Paul Robinson said on the Devize Issue Facebook page: "It's a scene of devastation.
"The owners of the house are understandably completely devastated as well, but all safe."
Ian Jeary, DW Fire and Rescue service area manager, said that Chandlers Lane was closed and thanked villagers for their help.
Alison Kent posted on the Gazette & Herald's Facebook page: "A massive thank you to Dorset and Wiltshire FRS who have been working all night to try and save The Old Manor in Bishops Cannings."
