PEWSEY'S St Francis School is in a celebratory mood after their application for a new single story nursery was approved.

The new nursery, which will be within the school's 17-acre site, will provide extra space meaning that the existing Little Saints Nursery will expand its age range from two to four years to zero to four years.

It is expected that the new building, in Marlborough Road, will be completed in the Autumn and will provide a reception area and three rooms for Little Buds, zero to two years, Acorns, two to three years, and Saplings, for three to four years.

St Francis Headteacher David Sibson said: "The new nursery build is an exciting new phase for St Francis and it is appropriate that it comes during our 75th anniversary academic year.

"St Francis was founded in September 1941 with just four pupils. The new Little Saints Nursery enables St Francis to offer a caring, nurturing and outstanding education for local children right from six weeks to 13 years.

"Little Saints will be open for 51 weeks a year which gives working parents much needed reliable childcare options and flexibility.

"Little Saints has the added benefit that nursery children are able to make full use of our 17 acre site which includes extensive facilities and grounds including our school farm.”
