WITH regard to Coun Seed’s letter concerning the library in Calne, he has chosen to misuse his elected position to castigate a member of the local community who had asked, politely, for news of any response to the changes that are now in place. Glibly, he writes that “the vast majority are delighted”. Upon what basis does he make this assumption? Seed then allows us, his employer, to know a few figures about attendance – without mention of the additional role the library has adopted in taking in the social services provided by ‘the hub’.
Seed then goes on to criticise the political party Mr Boaler represents in Calne for daring to question. What bombastic impertinence, and what an abuse of his position! As a Democrat, I am appalled.
He mentions, finally, in his sad tirade, that there are local elections on the horizon. These, indeed, will be an opportunity for at least a change of personalities, of whatever political persuasion.
