A CHRISTMAS card designed by a year three pupil at Kings Lodge Primary School in Chippenham has been delivered to Prime Minister David Cameron.

Year three pupil Aila-Mae Manalo's design was chosen by Chippenham MP Michelle Donelan to be her first Christmas card as an MP which she hand delivered to number 10 Downing Street.

After asking the school to design her card, more than 100 entries were created by year three pupils at Kings Lodge around the theme, Wiltshire in Winter.

Aila, eight, chose to feature Wiltshire landmark Stonehenge, a Christmas tree with presents and two snowmen on her winning design.

Deputy head teacher, Peter Shewring, said: "The children were really excited across both classes, every child designed a Christmas card.

"Aila was delighted and we got send through some copies for her to send out to her friends and family which was lovely. It's been a really nice project."

As well as posting the Christmas card to Mr Cameron, the Chippenham MP has also sent out hundreds to local residents, businesses and other MPs.

"I chose to ask Kings Lodge School to design my card this year because I have met with the pupils at the school and know how engaged they are and how interested many of them are in not only art, but politics," she said.

There was also four runners up in the design competition; Alfie Marshall, seven, Jake Husband, eight, Megan Reilly, seven and Alejandro Guijarro, eight.
