A 49-year-old woman from Chippenham has died in a three-car crash on the A350 near Lacock and three others have been left with minor injuries.

Officers were called to this collision at 8.40pm last night near to the junction with Corsham Road.

The cars involved were a red Peugeot 207, a silver Volkswagen Passat and a lorry. The road was closed for seven hours while investigations were carried out.

PC Dom Green of the roads policing unit said: “As a result of the collision, the driver of the Peugeot – a 49-year-old woman from the Chippenham area – was declared deceased at the scene.

“The driver of the Passat, a 27-year-old male from the Melksham area along with his passenger, a 28-year-old female from the Trowbridge area were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“The 52-year-old male driver of the goods vehicle was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“We would like to appeal for any witnesses who have not yet come forward who either saw the collision or the vehicles involved immediately before the collision.”
