THE sun was shining on the crowds attending the first ever Goatfest at Goatacre Cricket Club over the weekend.
Starting on Friday, Goatfest promised one and a half days of beer, music and food for the whole family.
Boasting headline acts by The Full Monty on the Friday and folk rock band The Boys from County Hell on the Saturday, the new festival seemed to strike a chord with its crowd.
Organiser of the event, John Wilkins, said: “It was absolutely amazing. Everyone had a great time and we were very lucky with the weather.
"On Friday we had a crowd of 250 people and on the Saturday we sold out of our tickets so there were 500 people attending.
“The bands were really good. They were very happy with the sound systems. I have heard a lot of positive feedback from people. We will probably end up doing this all again as it was received so well.
“We were raising money for the club but at the same time we had a lot of collection points for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. A good percentage of the profits will be going straight to them, which is good for the community.
"We were very blessed with the volunteers we had, including a number of the cricket club players.”
