ARMED police officers were called to Raj restaurant in Marlborough on Monday evening to arrest a man for historic domestic abuse offences.
Wiltshire police were assisting officers from the Metropolitan force in the arrest of 38-year-old man for causing grevious bodily harm and for common assault.
He was arrested at 5.45pm yesterday.
The arresting officers were not armed but some accompanying officers were.
The man was taken to the Swindon custody unit but handed over to Metropolitan officers who have taken him to London to be interviewed.
