The Oliver Cromwell pub near Bromham has been sold but its future is still unclear.

Owners Enterprise Inn confirmed this week that it had sold the historic pub at St Edith's Marsh but would not say who the buyers are.

The pub was on the market freehold for £295,000 and former landlord Tony Okun, who was forced to leave by Enterprise, was convinced the company had owners of existing Indian restaurants lined-up to buy it.

He fell out with Enterprise when its area manager brought potential buyers to see the pub just days after he signed a tenancy agreement.

He and his family were given just weeks to leave and initially refused to hand over the keys when Enterprise managers arrived on his doorstep in January.

But last month he and his wife, Bev, finally gave up the fight to stay and have moved to Berkshire but remain without work.
