Abbeyfield pupil Harrison Jones is the latest winner of the Rotary Young Chef 2015 Chippenham and Wiltshire Vale.
The contest was closely fought, with just two points between first and second place. It took place last Wednesday at Abbeyfield School, in Chippenham, where the home team met a team from Hardenhuish.
The young chefs, aged between 11 and 17, prepared a meal for two costing no more than £12 within 90 minutes.
Competitors were marked on the quality and presentation of the meal, and the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Harrison, 15, made cottage pie with chantenay carrots and parsnip, followed by lime and raspberry cheesecake. He said: “I became interested in cooking because of my uncle who is a chef in Oxford and I hope to follow him into the catering profession.”
He now goes forward to the district competition final in Bridgewater next month.
