CALNE Police held a winter road safety operation on Friday night in light of recent deaths on Wiltshire roads.
A 48-year-old man was arrested for drink driving, a 19-year-old man was breathalysed and found to have alcohol in his system below the legal limit and a notice was issued to a driver for a lighting offence.
More than 30 vehicles were stopped in and around Calne throughout the evening, with the operation focusing on stopping vehicles and performing various checks on lighting and tyre tread wear.
The operation was organised by Calne Police Sergeant Ben Huggins after concerns were raised by members of the community in regards to vehicles being driven with lighting and other vehicle defects.
