Famous characters from the 1970s featured at Canon’s House fete in Devizes – in the form of scarecrows.
For the first time the annual fete featured a scarecrow trail and there were 14 pairs of famous people. Despite many people thinking Sonny and Cher scarecrows were actually John Lennon and Yoko Ono, they were voted the best.
Visitors to the fete, on Sunday, were entertained by The Major Wrecks, carvings by chainsaw artist Rob Beckinsale, a traditional fairground organ and music by Kaya Drums. There was also a huge raffle.
Canon’s House is a respite care home for children with learning disabilities.
Bursar Jill Burry said it was felt the fete had been the best ever and more than £3,000 was raised.
She said: “We all had a lot of fun.”
