THIS year marks the 40th anniversary of Marlborough College summer school and visitors in 2014 are promised an experience that is bigger and better than ever.

The Summer School’s comprehensive programme for young people continues to prove a winning formula and is once again packed with fun and variety to suit all ages.

Dividing the children into four age bands, the structure and content is carefully designed to provide an exciting adventure for each individual in a safe environment.

While Junior Troopers, aged between three to six and children’s activities, six-nine, adopt the multi-activity programme approach with sports, art and crafts, technology, swimming and outdoor adventures, young adventurers, nine to 12, and teenagers, 13-16, can choose a separate morning and afternoon course which they will continue all week. Courses this year include young clayshot, theatre making, rock school, ultimate frisbee, stay alive survival, squash academy, making a film, design and make your own cyber pet, lacrosse and the art of jewellery making.

Gala concert series is planned for Friday evenings of each week, finishing the 2014 Summer School off in style with a performance by Only Men Aloud, the popular choir who won the BBC’s Last Choir Standing competition in 2008.

The Summer School attracts both local people and visitors to the area, single people, families, grandparents with their grandchildren - all feel comfortable and many return year after year.

The Summer School website allows visitors to make their selections and pay online. Visit www.mcsummerschool.org.uk. For a brochure apply through the website, email admin@mcsummerschool.org.uk or call (01672) 892388.
