I am searching for information about or living relatives of Stanley Hillier, born about 1897 at Wexcombe, Fyfield near Marlborough.
Stanley lived until about 1907 at 33 Brown Buildings, Lower Fyfield.
His parents were Alfred and Elizabeth (nee Rutt).
The Hillier family had lived in the parishes of Preshute and Fyfield since before 1828.
Stanley had two brothers, Lewis and Harold, and a sister, Phyllis.
Although Stanley is not on the Fyfield war memorial his death is recorded on the Sunday School Roll of Honour inside the church.
Sometime between 1907 and 1911 the family moved to Stockcross near Newbury and it was from here that Stanley joined the 8th Royal Berkshire Regiment. He was killed within a few weeks of landing in France at the Battle of Loos on September 26, 1915.
Any information would be much appreciated.
