We were delighted to have had the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister last Thursday in Chippenham. This was a rare opportunity to meet a serving PM and one I am sure many will not forget.

In recent weeks we have seen a number of Government Cabinet members visit our local community to see a wide variety of projects and meet many local residents.

In Chippenham we continue to see positive growth and only last week saw another new business open in our High Street. There are also a number of new events and markets planned for the coming months in Chippenham. These events will give the local community a wonderful opportunity to support the local business community and to enjoy the continued improvement of what Chippenham has to offer. It was also great to see a number of residents at the annual town meeting, which was held last week.

There were a number of issues raised and it was good to see residents taking an interest in their local community. Many positive things came out of the meeting and also a greater understanding of the role of the council within the town.

It is now important that all of us get behind our town in a positive way and support the new initiatives that are being promoted.

Couns Peter Hutton & Teresa Hutton, Chippenham Town Council.
