There is another vacancy on Chippenham Town Council due to the non attendance of Ian Keasey.
The Lib Dem councillor was elected last May but cannot keep his seat because he has not attended any council meetings in the last six months.
Chief executive Sue Wilthew said: “Unfortunately it is a legal requirement that he is de-selected.’’ Mr Keasey could not be reached for comment.
If ten electors from the Chippenham Monkton ward write to the returning officer at Wiltshire Council by April 28 asking for an election to be held, this will be done, no later than July 3. Otherwise the council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
The town council has just filled a vacancy in the Hardens and England ward with a by-election won by Lib Dem Terry Gibson.
