FORMER Lavington School pupil and professional actor Shaun McCourt has been inspiring pupils in a series of workshops.
Mr McCourt, 27, has been helping teachers at Lavington’s drama and music department, teaching GCSE students, and has also been running dance workshops after school.
Mr McCourt, who lives in London but whose family home is in Market Lavington, has been in numerous productions since graduating. His most prestigious role to date was Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when it toured in the UK in 2012.
In the workshops at Lavington School he taught dance routines from West End shows Joseph, Grease and Hairspray.
He said: “Some of the students had never danced before. I taught them the techniques and what I have loved about is they have embraced it and given their all.
“Even in a couple of weeks you could see their progression and a lot of that is to do with their confidence and they have enjoyed it.
“They had asked me lots of questions about the industry and about what I did straight after Lavington and the training I had. I didn’t start singing until I was 15 so I hope they are quite inspired.”
