Age UK Wiltshire is able to launch a new generation of silver surfers onto the World Wide Web thanks to a donation of £3,000 from the Tesco Community Awards.
The Devizes-based charity says the donation will make a positive impact on the local community, helping to fund transportable IT equipment, and enable staff and volunteers to provide computer tuition in the community and at home to older people in Wiltshire.
Age UK Wiltshire, was founded in 1949 and has become a key part of the local community in the county.
Allison Davis said the charity recognised that some older people cannot get to Devizes through immobility or illness, but were keen to get online.
