A 52-year-old Chippenham man suffered serious injuries in traffic accident yesterday.
An Audi A8L and a Mercedes ML 320, being driven by the Chippenham man, collided at the entrance to the National Diving Centre on the A48 at Tidenham, Gloucestershire, at about 2.10pm on Sunday.
The driver of the Mercedes was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol, with serious injuries. He remains there in a stable condition.
A 48-year-old woman who was the front seat passenger also went to Frenchay Hospital suffering a fractured arm and other minor injuries.
Two children in the car suffered minor injuries.
A man and woman from Lydney who were in the Audi were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with injuries which were not described as serious.
The road was closed while a collision investigation took place.
Anyone who witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police should call 101, quoting incident 207 of March 9.
