The recent rains – on a scale Noah would recognise – have in some low-lying flooded areas caused sewage to escape to the surface. This has highlighted how indestructible are the wet wipes some people continue to flush away, and made the flooded area particularly disgusting.
Thames Water has asked that people do not flush them (or sanitary towels) down the lavatory as they block up the sewage farms. This was the proof.
