Thanks to the generous support of the people of Devizes I am pleased to say that the Devizes branch of the British Heart Foundation raised £130 for the BHF at our stall in the Corn Exchange at the Devizes Christmas Fair on November 29.

We also had a superb concert at the town hall on December 5 from our friends in the Chippenham Male Voice Choir and the 4 + 1 Jazz Band which raised an additional £408.

Altogether, during the course of this year, the Devizes branch of the BHF and our supporters have raised nearly £6,000 in the fight to help everybody who suffers with a heart condition, from babies born with life-threatening heart problems, to the many mums, dads and grandparents who survive a heart attack and endure the daily struggles of heart failure.

I would also like to thank our dedicated band of volunteers, collectors and the Rotary Club of Devizes for their assistance in helping us raise these funds.

If you would like to help us in this aim or if you have an idea or suggestion for fundraising I would be delighted to hear from you (telephone 01380 738034). And keep in touch with us through our new Facebook page – BHF Devizes branch.

Tony Batchelor, Chairman, Devizes branch, British Heart Foundation.
