A 36-year-old who is accused of robbing a man of his mobile phone and cigarettes has been remanded in custody by a judge.
John-Paul Allen is said to have carried out the alleged mugging with another man in Devizes last month.
The defendant is also accused of actual bodily harm and theft in connection with the alleged incident on Saturday November 9.
No charges were put to Allen, of no fixed abode, and he did not enter a plea during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday February 7 and remanded Allen, who appeared from prison via video link, in custody until then.
