A man has appeared before a judge accused of making arrangements for a sham marriage to take place.
Gbenga Abijo is said to have conspired to do an act to facilitate the commission of a breach of UK immigration law.
It is alleged the 29-year-old, of Melsome Road, Lyneham, took part in an arrangement for Mukaila Abijo, a non EU citizen, to marry an EU citizen.
No charge was put to the defendant and he did not enter a plea during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to February 3 and released Abijo on bail until then.
It is said than in January and February this year he took part in arrangement for a sham marriage at Swindon Register Office between Mukaila Abijo, 27, and Vanessa Mendes, 21.
