Readers and staff at the Gazette & Herald, Wiltshire Times and Swindon Advertiser helped raise £3,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer last month.

Throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Gazette & Herald held a number of fundraising events for the charity.

On October 17, two pence from the sale of every copy of the newspaper was donated to the charity, as well as ten per cent of advertising revenue from the Think Pink supplement.

On October 18 the Gazette & Herald staff held a pink fundraising day and in the paper’s Duke Street reception there were cakes donated by Warminster’s Waitrose and Bradford on Avon’s Sainsbury’s.

Group editor Gary Lawrence said: “I’m delighted we raised £3,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and I would like to thank all of our readers who picked up a copy of the Gazette & Herald on October 17.”
