Christmas officially begins in Marlborough today when two young winners of the town schools’ choir competition will switch on the town’s lights at 7pm.

The competition will be at St Mary’s Church from 5pm and is part of an evening of entertainment culminating in the switch-on.

From 3pm the town will be buzzing when Santa arrives. He will be in his grotto in the town hall until 8pm.

Marlborough Communities Christmas Market will be in the High Street from 3-8pm with many shops staying open late.

There will be entertainment on the town hall steps from Marlborough Community Choir, Marlborough Concert Orchestra and Marlborough Academy from 6pm.
