Cheques to representatives of many of 30 local groups that raised a total of over £8,200 on the annual Devizes Lions Sponsored Walk to Roundway Down in October have been presented.
Club president Geoff Taylor recalled that the walk was completed in heavy rain, which made it even more impressive that the total raised this year was half as much again as last year. Among the younger walkers were the Goddard brothers. This year Sam was walking on behalf of the 3rd Devizes Cubs and younger brother Ollie was raising money for Devizes Rugby Club Juniors.
