Southgate pub landlord Ian Wixon presents the cheque to project co-ordinator Stuart Hislop with some of the Drews Pond Wood Project volunteers
The Drews Pond Wood Project in Devizes received a boost when the landlord of the Southgate Inn, Ian Wixon, handed over £1,047.
Stuart Hislop, the leader of the group that manages the nature reserve in the grounds of the former Roundway Hospital, said: “This type of support is invaluable to the group’s work and is made all the more pleasing as it is local funding by local people.”
Funds were raised by a bonus ball competition, quiz nights and a collection box.
