A female driver was kicked and had her car keys thrown into a hedge during an altercation with a cyclist.

The driver, aged in her 40s from Pewsey, was travelling in her van on the road between Pewsey and Devizes, close to Stanton St Bernard, at around 1.45pm on Tuesday, November 19, when she pulled over to speak to a cyclist she noticed had become agitated after she had overtaken him a short time before.

The cyclist is reported to have got off his bike and argued with the woman, who had stepped out of the van, before kicking her in the leg.

He then grabbed the keys from the van's ignition and threw them into the hedgerow.

Police are keen to identify the cyclist who is described as being around 50 years old, short, about 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build with a grey beard.

He was wearing a red and white cycling jersey and black cycling shorts.

Officers are also keen to trace a male driver of what is believed to be a silver BMW who stopped to help the female driver.
