An inconsiderate pet owner is causing a stink in Marlborough leaving bags of dog poo dotted around Back Lane.

The issue was raised by Pam Eardley, who has lived in Back Lane for 15 years and said the bags started appearing around six months ago.

And last Thursday morning the 74-year-old was disgusted to find a bag left on bench in the lane.

She said: “I was just incensed when I found it.

“I saw the bag and I thought it was rubbish so I went over to pick it up and put it in my bin and when I saw what was in it I was just horrified.

“The seat is used by families and the children might not know what the poo is.

“There is quite a steep hill and the elderly ladies often sit on the bench and some of them don’t have very good eyesight and could end up sitting on it.

“I saw one lady go to sit on the bench but she couldn’t because the bag of poo was there.

“Over the past few months out on walks I’ve found umpteen bags that are just left on the side and one man I spoke to said he had eight bags left by his property, which he had to get rid of himself.

“I love dogs, but it’s not the dog’s fault it’s the owner. If they are going to pick it up and put it in a bag, why can’t they put it in a bin?

“It’s just so inconsiderate. How would they like it if someone left it outside their house?”
