The building that was the hub of social activity for Royal British Legion members in Marlborough for almost 50 years is to go under the hammer next month
The Grade II listed property in St Martins, just off the High Street, was home to the RBL club since the 1950s, but it had to close and relocate in recent years because of dwindling membership.
It has now been divided to provide two residential units, one of which has been sold.
Earlier this year Wiltshire Council granted detailed planning consent for the conversion and extension of the second section of the building to provide a three/four bedroom house over three floors providing a total internal floor area of about 2,141ft² (199m²), plus a basement, making this a fantastic opportunity to create a great family home to one’s own taste within a stone’s throw from the centre of town.
The former dancehall to the rear has now been demolished to provide a large enclosed garden having an overall depth of about 81 feet (25m) and the whole property extends to about 0.10 acre.
No 10 St Martins is being offered for sale, with a guide of £195,00, along with 24 other lots on Thursday December 5 at The Steam Museum, Swindon.
The catalogue can be downloaded from Strakers website or is available from any one of their eight offices in Wiltshire.
