Artists David and Gill Reeves have transformed the front of the Coleman’s Farm Community Centre in Calne with a colourful mosaic.
Mr and Mrs Reeves, who are both ceramic artists and have a studio at Ratford, near Calne, were commissioned to brighten up the centre by members of its management committee.
They began working on the project five months ago, with the aim of getting more people to notice and to use the building, which is available for hire for various functions.
The mosaic has been inspired by a wildlife theme and features a large tree branch stretching across the piece, as well as swallows, thistles, kingfishers, meadow flowers and sunflowers.
Mrs Reeves said she enjoyed working within the community as an artist and was glad to help improve the appearance of the centre for residents and local people.
Two years ago the Reeves also helped to spruce up the Prince Charles Drive underpass, helped by pupils at Priestley Primary School.
Mrs Reeves said: “We really enjoyed doing it and we’re more than pleased with the reaction it has received, particularly from the direct community who look out onto it every day.
“We’ve had comments from kids walking past and when a van went past the other day the driver wound down the window to look.”
