With reference to the rise in allowances for Wiltshire councillors.
It is a long-standing myth that all councillors get paid. This is completely untrue. It is only Wiltshire councillors who receive allowances.
Town and parish councillors do not get paid for serving the community.
I have been a town councillor for more than ten years and have never received a penny .
