Shelter Box first responder Tom Kinderman is on standby to go out to the Philippines and deliver aid.
The charity provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters.
The team at their headquarters in Cornwall is working round the clock to get pack the boxes and there are three teams in the Philippines delivering the aid.
Mr Kinderman, of Manningford Bruce, near Pewsey, was last in the Philippines earlier this year when typhoon Pablo hit.
He said: “What we’re seeing now is the immediate aid but the long term affect is going to be huge so I expect that I will go over there at some point.
“Typhoon Pablo first came through in late December, early January and I was last out there in February and there were people there who still hadn’t received aid.
“I housed a family that had nothing for months and were living under tarpaulin and to see their faces when they were given a tent with cooking facilities and school equipment for the children makes all the difference.
“My message would be to do something because anything is better than nothing.
“Obviously not everybody can get on a plane and deliver aid but there will be people sitting at home thinking that it’s awful and wondering what to do and they can make a donation that will fund a tent which can provide shelter for up to 10 people.”
