FOLLOWING two successful winter seasons, Jenny and Simon Holt are once again opening their door to diners at their pop-up restaurant in Urchfont.

Using fresh local produce and with a collection of new menus, they say is a perfect chance for friends to spend time together over dinner in their home and raise money for charity.

Mrs Holt said: “Groups of up to eight bring their own wine and make menu choices on the night. Special diets can be catered for if advised in advance.

“New dishes include smoked trout with nectarine, butternut squash and salad leaves; fillet of pork with pancetta, blackberries and apple, leek gratin and dauphinoise potatoes; and brown sugar meringues with passion fruit cream.”

Mrs Holt, a former president of Devizes Chamber of Commerce, and her husband took part in the Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? event at Devizes Food and Drink Festival in 2011 and were impressed by the idea of having dinner with people they had never met before in someone’s home.

She said: “We have now raised over £4,000 for Diabetes UK, both with the dinners and a large dinner dance held on Valentine’s Day last year at Urchfont Village Hall.”

They chose Diabetes UK as their charity because the disease is a growing problem in Britain.
