Police have renewed their appeal for information following the theft of the Marlborough mayoral chains.
They were taken from the mayor’s parlor in the town hall between 7.30pm on October 13 and 8am the following day but, despite a £5,000 reward being put up by councillors Stewart and Marian Dobson, no information has come to light.
Detective Constable Ben Collier from Swindon CID said: “Extensive police inquiries have continued but I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.
“We have viewed a large amount of CCTV from local businesses, but have been unable to ascertain who the offender or offenders are.
“This investigation is very much ongoing. The chains hold huge sentimental value to the town and the council.”
If you can help contact police on 101 or ring the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
