Tracing family links my name is Brenda Ambrosone (nee Goodman). I am interested in reaching out to Goodman families in Wiltshire. I would be prepared to pay for a DNA test should any Goodman people consent.
My ancestor Thomas Goodman claimed to be born in Wiltshire in 1766. He later married Zilpah Harding and had children in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. His place of birth appeared as Wilts, Russell, on the census. I believe now that it was probably Rushall.
What is interesting is that in 1814 he named his son George Hale Sloper Goodman. Despite searching I have not been able to make a Goodman connection to these names.
I have previously been successful in matching my father’s DNA with a Rickmansworth descendant of one of Thomas and Zilpah’s children.
I have contacted Mr Marsh who has extensive parish records of Wiltshire but this didn’t provide any results. I have also visited the local archives.
