A NEW bistro will open in Calne on November 2.
Fay Stallan has bought American diner Mamma Hanks, in Beach Terrace, from Rob Merrick.
Renamed Fay’s Bistro, it will sell meat from Thomas of Malmesbury, bread from the Bath Bakery and cheese from Somerset and Devon.
It will open from Mon-day to Saturday, 8.30am to 4.30pm, selling croissants, homemade sandwiches, soup, pizzas and other hot food and drinks.
Mrs Stallan, of Little Somerford, near Malmes-bury, was international vice-president of a large business in Canada and has now trained as a chef.
She said: “It seemed a beautiful location on the river and I think there’s such potential. I don’t think it will encroach on existing businesses. I have had such a warm response from people.”
During its first day, from noon to 4.30pm, Mrs Stallan will offer a taster menu to customers. Part-time staff are needed. Call (01249) 812508 or email: fay@fays.co.uk
