TENANTS of Raglan homes are being urged to have their say on the social housing provider’s plans to merge with Jephson Housing.

The firm has said the plan would create one of the UK’s largest housing associations, with nearly 11,000 homes in the South of England.

The expected efficiency savings, of £38million over ten years, would enable it to acquire another 940 homes.

Consultation began on Monday and will last six weeks until December 2.

Raglan chief executive Nicholas Harris said: “Our residents’ views and opinions will help shape how we move things forward. Our vision is to for everyone to have the opportunity to have a place they can call home.”

The Raglan Board will consider its findings and make a decision in December. If approved by the Homes and Communities Agency, the new organisation would become effective next spring.
