A motorcyclist from Devizes was airlifted to the Royal United Hospital, Bath, yesterday after a crash on the A342 outside the Fox and Hounds pub.
A Vauxhall camper van being driven by a 75-year-old man from Worcestershire was turning right from Brickley Lane on to the A342 when it was in collision with a Harley Davidson motorbike travelling towards Amesbury.
Police said the motorbike rider, a 39-year-old man from Devizes, suffered a serious leg injury and he was flown to the RUH by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The collision happened at about 5.06pm on Tuesday. The A342 was closed for two and a half hours while police carried out an investigation.
PC Jeff Rice of Wiltshire Police’s serious collision investigation team is appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact him on 101.
