Travel buddies created by schoolchildren near Malmesbury have been backpacking around the world as part of a geography project.
Youngsters from Luckington Community School created and decorated 2D cardboard travel buddies to send around the world with travel journals which were then filled with pictures and stories of their adventures.
The schoolchildren have been elated to receive postcards from all seven continents, including one travel buddy that was pictured with cancan girls in Las Vegas, and another with youngsters at a school in Japan.
Headteacher Julia Hind said: “We wanted to encourage the children to learn about the world around them.
“The travel buddies were first sent out to someone the children knew, either in this country or another country.
“Then it just depended on who sent them on as to how far they managed to get.”
Some youngsters had postcards from across the world, including from the Taj Mahal and Niagara Falls.
The pictures, postcards and diaries have been put on display at the school.
