THE congregation at St Andrew’s Church in Devizes bade a fond farewell to their minister, the Rev Chris Cory, and his wife Barbara at the end of his final service on Sunday.
After morning worship at the United Reformed church in Long Street, 125 people sat down to lunch prepared by the St Andrew’s catering team after which there was a presentation of pictures of the many events the couple have attended over their ten years in Devizes.
After tea and cakes, a farewell service was held when the churches of the Wiltshire United Area joined in.
Cynthia Crocker, from St Andrew’s, said: “The affection for Chris and Barbara was evident, with the church packed by all those wishing them well on their move to a new church in Tewkesbury.”
