Hilmarton resident Barry Scott has raised at least £500 for two armed forces charities after cycling 196 miles around Wiltshire.
Mr Scott, who completed the trek in three days, served in the Royal Air Force from 1960 to 1975 and is a case worker for the armed forces charity SSAFA.
He also raised cash for Help for Heroes.
Mr Scott said: “I want to publicise the two charities for as long as I’m able. Being a case worker for SSAFA I see behind the scenes and I wanted to raise its profile in Wiltshire.
“These young men and young girls that are injured, they still need help when they get into their fifties and their sixties because they have lost limbs. Some of them are incapable of doing things that you and I take for granted.”
To donate, send a cheque made out to one of the charities to the SSAFA divisional secretary at 16 Hither-spring, Corsham, SN13 9UT. Letters should be labelled ‘cycle around Wiltshire’.
