New activities and the sun helped Derry Hill fete attract about 500 people.
Peter Prater, chairman of the fete, said: “People seemed to be having a good time.
“This year we made some effort to introduce new activities. The biggest one was the arts and crafts show in traditional forms like cakes and jams.”
The event, on Saturday, also featured a wheelbarrow race with entrants decorating their wheelbarrows to reflect their favourite memory of 2012.
Mr Prater said: “There were some really great, innovative designs; an Olympic-themed one and two based on the Austrian man who jumped from space. We also had a competition between Guides and Scouts.
“The idea is to split profit to local community groups for good causes, like a new carpet in the village hall.”
