Climbers from Ramsbury took on a challenge to scale the equivalent of the highest mountain in Ghana, Mount Afadjato, during the village’s annual street fair.
Ramsbury High Street was closed on July 6 for the fair which included a 30ft climbing wall hired by 1st Rams-bury Scouts and Ramsbury Royal British Legion.
The event marked the formal affiliation between the two organisations and was also used to raise money for Action Through Enterprise – a charity set up by Sarah Gardner, from Ramsbury, to support economic and social development in Ghana.
The 2,904ft challenge was set in keeping with the fundraising theme and four climbers remained constantly on the wall to complete the epic feat.
