Wiltshire Police have released CCTV images of missing man Thomas Edwards to assist with the appeal for his whereabouts.

The images show Mr Edwards inside Rudis bar, Regent Circus, Swindon, on Friday 28th June 2013 moments before he went missing.

Mr Edwards, 32, from Calne, was seen leaving the bar between 9.45pm-10.15pm.

Mr Edwards is then believed to have seen by two on-duty police officers at approximately 10.30pm walking along Cambria Bridge Road, Swindon.

The officers spoke with Mr Edwards who stated he needed to get a bus home to Calne. The officers then gave Mr Edwards a lift to the bus stops outside the Swindon Designer Outlet Village where he was left at the bus stop.

The officers then patrolled the area again, approximately 10 minutes later, and Mr Edwards was still at the same location waiting for the bus.

Wiltshire Police are urgently appealing for four people who boarded a bus from Swindon to Chippenham on Friday evening to come forward.

Four people boarded the 55A bus from the Penzance Drive area of Swindon at approximately 11pm.

There are several bus stops along Penzance Drive and it is possible that these men could have boarded at different stops.

The last known phone signal from Mr Edwards’ mobile was within the Chippenham area.

Throughout Sunday, Monday and today, police teams have commenced searches in Chippenham and Studley Crossroads areas.

The police helicopter is also being used each day.

Colleagues from Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) are assisting Wiltshire Police with the search efforts.

Officers will be out today continuing the search effort at locations in Chippenham and Calne.

Sector head for Chippenham, Calne and Corsham Inspector Phil Staynings said: "This is a thorough police investigation and detailed enquiries are ongoing.

"Police officers and colleagues from WILSAR will continue the search efforts today in and around the Chippenham and Calne areas. This is being treated as a missing persons enquiry and we have the appropriate investigation teams working on it.

"We know that this is totally out of character for Mr Edwards and is obviously of great concern.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen Mr Edwards late on Friday evening or early on Saturday morning to come forward immediately. The smallest amount of information might prove crucial to this investigation.

"All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.

"I would finally like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this enquiry so far."

Mr Edward’s brother Will said today it is possible that he got on the bus and fell asleep, missing his stop and travelling all the way to Chippenham. He said: “At the moment things are still the same. We are liaising with the police and we do know that the search teams are still following their lines of inquiry. We’re still trying to find out whether he got on the bus or whether he fell asleep on it.”

Mr Edwards is described as a white male, of thin build with short brown hair. He also has distinctive Ironman tattoos on his right leg and left arm which depict a red and white Austrian flag.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt with a grey logo on, skinny blue jeans which were turned up and red espadrilles with no socks.

Anyone with information should contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
