The First Corsham Cub Scouts put their green fingers to good use last week as they helped the town prepare for the Corsham in Bloom competition.

Cub Scout leader Guy Livingston and 39 Cub Scouts worked on the flower beds outside the town’s Co-op store as part of the Scouts’ Community Week.

The Cubs were sponsored to work on the beds and spent an hour-and-a-half weeding, picking litter and putting up flower baskets, earning a Community Week badge.

Mr Livingston said: “All the money gets ploughed straight back into Scouting development, for our group and Scouts nationwide.

“On the day itself we raised £202, but there’s still plenty more money to come in.”
