A pensioner in a wheelchair was involved in a collision with a car outside Morrisons supermarket in Devizes this evening.
Police received a call alerting them to an incident in Estcourt Street at 4.37pm involving a car and an elderly lady, believed to be in her 80s, who was in a wheelchair.
A paramedic in a rapid-response car was on the scene before 4.45pm to carry out initial assessment and treatment.
A back-up ambulance crew was requested as the pedestrian had suffered a suspected broken ankle.
She was been taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon for further treatment.
The road was closed while the emergency services attend the scene and reopened just after 5.30pm.
